Women and life changes

Life comes at you no matter what.

You can find yourself in a relationship you no longer have the strength or will to sustain.  You can be changed by becoming a mum and feel lost and devastatingly lonely.  You can feel the tension between looking after your family but also wanting to continue to be successful at work.  You can find that you are disappearing in amongst competing care responsibilities.  You can feel the weight of the invisible, unquanitifable mental, physical and emotional burden of looking after others.

There can be the devastation of the death of a loved one, divorce or separation, health issues.

You need a space where you feel truly heard.

I believe that people can change for the better, that they can grow and that they can overcome obstacles when they are provided with the right conditions.  This is what I hope to offer through my therapeutic services - the space for you to explore the things that might be holding you back, the things that might be troubling you, that might be causing you pain...so that you can continue through life feeling that you are the best version of yourself.

I offer empathy, kindness and presence in all my sessions.

Why Counselling?

Counselling offers you the space and time to open up to someone who will truly hear you.  This matters when we feel stuck, isolated, alone or hesitant.  When we're grief stricken.  When we're burning with anger.

I strongly believe that counselling is needed for so many women right now.

We are expected to carry so much against a backdrop of rising misogyny.

I might not be able to change the world in all the ways I would like but what I can do is build a safe space for women to express themselves.  To feel understood and respected.  To explore the ways in which we can safely navigate these times.  To be able to learn how to set boundaries and how to maintain them.  To be able to grow into the version of ourselves that we truly want to be.  To heal from pain.
